35wks 6days

Might need to be INDUCED.

Yup - baby's growth spurt looks like it's plateauing but we're still monitoring.

She's now just over 2.3 kgs and growing just along the normal growth line. If she goes below it, I will have to be induced at 37 or 38 weeks. Doc says she's in very good shape though, and able to go through a normal delivery so thank goodness it's not a straight-to-C-section order!

Like Kisu says, I guess she's not going to be a 4kg (premie!) baby like him. Secretly am thankful - can you imagine me trying to push a 4 kg baby out?!

My next checkup is a week away and I guess we'll know then. I don't think me eating more is the solution - and actually my appetite hasn't gone up that much. I'm usually hungry for lunch, but not really so for dinner - portions here are pretty much pre-pregnancy. I do snack more than before though. Doc has also ordered me not to stand too much and take regular breaks if I'm out walking.

In the meantime, we've just completed the hospital pre-admission procedures and I've packed the hospital bag. Last few days were spent doing baby laundry and sewing. I just finished sewing a bed skirt for the crib - took me about half a day. Not sure why I'm being so hardcore about this - I suppose I could have bought one off the web if need be, although it would probably have to be shipped in as our crib is a bit of an odd-sized one.

But anyways, now the bottom part of the crib (where you could previously see a drawer and springs, etc) is neatly hidden out of sight. I'm actually quite pleased with my efforts, although the gathers were a bitch to sew.

Also been feeling a bit blue lately - not sure why. Baby blues before baby is even here?! And waking up in the middle of the night and having problems getting back to sleep, which is not the usual case with me. Very strange - perhaps it's my body telling that I need to adjust to a feeding schedule soon.

It's the 'not knowing what to expect' that's prob giving you disturbed sleep.

Try to spend more 'Me' time and time with Kisu...and try to enjoy the last few weeks (?) of pregnancy. Go have a pedicure! Go for hi-tea! Buy some trashy mags! Have b&J ice cream! :) Relak...

Can't wait to see baby!

saggs - you're right, that's very much what it is. I also feel a little like i'm counting down to my last days of freedom and sleep! if my doc does decide to induce, i have less than a week left!!!

Hi Dot,
Good luck! I had the same thing with the twins. Their growth slowed down so the doctor said 37 weeks and out they would come. The feeling blue thing is normal. I had it too, with alot of ' what if I don't love my babies enough' or 'What if babies don't love me moments'. Whatever and whichever way it goes, it usually works out well. Will keep you in prayers. :)

PS. I think I saw you leave pilates ast Sat. :)
