Itch

Miserable. Just miserable.

An itch/rash thing has invaded my belly.

It started around Friday last week and has been getting progressively worse. Usually my belly is itchy anyways, but manageable - I don't scratch and just applying some cream to ease the stretching/dryness usually helps.

But recently it's been itching non-stop - it's a prickling feeling that reaches deep within the dermis making me want to scratch like mad. Yesterday was the worst - I spent the hours of 4 - 6am this morning alternating between staring at the ceiling, exposing my tummy to the aircon blast (which seemed to help somewhat although I didn't think it was a very good idea to be under such cold air), applying powder and taking cold showers. Finally managed to sleep round about dawn breaking - I was actually miserable enough to wish that I could pop on the spot so that this itch would stop.

There are some small red blotches, but luckily not really rash like. Just very itchy. I've stopped my usual creams and am just using the one that my doctor has prescribed, QV cream, but it hasn't really done much for me. I'm seeing her again this Friday and if it doesn't ease by then I'm going to ask for oral meds or steroid cream.

Hi Dot!

I had a terrible rash in the last few months too. It started out near my belly button then slowly to my thighs. I couldnt help myself fr scratching, and it left marks! Only after applying steriod cream did the itch finally subsided. I think it might have been due to my different blood type fr my Lil Monster.

hello lin and matryoshkas, thanks for your comments & suggestions..yes i have been using prickly heat powder which does help somewhat, but also afraid it's too drying. anyway, for now looks like no choice. it's cold showers and QV cream and the powder....
