Going Out

We've been out a fair bit since Ellis turned a month old - the official confinement period being over.

It's fun bringing her around, and not being restricted to a 3 hour jaunt before I need to go home and feed.

Besides, I thought it was very important that we (I) practise being out with her ASAP, especially with Kisu being around as he was on leave for the holidays. We (both us and Ellis) needed to get used to the car seat, stroller and just general getting about. Now I know where elevators, nursing rooms and ramps are at the shopping malls - things I never thought about previously!

Here we are with Ray & Sham at Barracks (Dempsey) on the eve of Christmas Eve. I like their desserts and coffee - although the wait staff are rather clueless! But I chose the location for the huge space where I knew fitting a stroller by our table wouldn't be a problem.

Oh, also check out Ellis' giant toddler sized bib - the girl spits up like nobody's business nowadays - spewing precious breastmilk all over. Sigh.

At Wah Lok restaurant where we had our farewell dinner for Mei jie....I guess I now have to do the requisite cheesy Christmas tree shots...

Just yesterday we spent a good 7 (!) hours at Vivo City....we seem to be out far longer with the baby, than without! It really helps that Ellis sleeps VERY well when she's out - it's like a miracle! We think it's the constant motion from being in the stroller coupled with the background noise, which she must find soothing. I now want to buy white noise CDs to play in the house.

She can sleep amazingly long stretches, with minimal feeding. The only times she wakes and cries is if she's gassy and needs to be burped. There's none of that constant fretting, refusal to be put down to sleep, or the 1.5 hour interval feeds that she subjects me to when we're home.

My only bugbear about being out with her - nursing in public. Or rather the fashions (and lackthereof) that go with it - more on that coming up as I feel the subject deserves a dedicated post!
