..threw up for the 1st time today. strange thing is that stomach has been feeling a little better, so it was a little unexpected. less of that gassy, discomforting feeling that has been plaguing me the last 2 weeks (beginning from the 6th week)
had 2 slices of raisin bread and a glass of milk this morning for breakfast - ate at 8 because woke up hungry (usually sleep till 10am - can sleep ALOT!). perhaps because i didn't have anything to eat before going to sleep last night. Had a good dinner at sushi tei and thought could tahan till this morning. really didn't feel like eating more food before going to bed last night.
anyways, went back to sleep an hour after eating and then felt myself retching as i lay on my side. got up to go to the sink, thinking that it would go away as usual but food came up smoothly - including, urgh, the cod liver oil capsule i took after breakfast. yucks
stomach felt queasy after that, and had to eat a couple of table water crackers to fill me up again - could feel stomach clenching. it still felt a little unstable during lunch, but i managed to keep the food down. ...kisu bought an assortment of chicken, roast duck and char siew with rice for lunch. but I split lunch into 2 smaller meals (ate again at 4) just to be safe.
At least now, i feel some enjoyment in eating the food - for the past 2 weeks everything tastes like sawdust. and it's all about stuffing food that i don't even enjoy just to quell the stomach pains and queasiness.
The feeling of needing food is not like the usual hunger pangs - usually when you get hungry, you start thinking of all sorts of yummy things that you want to eat and food seems so much tastier when you eat it. for me, I bypass that pleasantly hungry stage - it's my stomach eating itself that alerts me to the need for food. You can feel the stomach muscles clenching and the acids corroding your insides. i just get like major gastric and you know that your stomach NEEDS food NOW. a rather terrible feeling.
And then....the first few mouthfuls are pure relief - there is no enjoyment of the taste of the food, just the pure relief of filling your stomach. and then shortly after, my appetite dies, there's a nasty aftertaste in the mouth and you feel repulsed by the food you just ate.
gross
Initially the stomach queasiness would go away once I felt full...but later (6th week on) my stomach would just feel bad ALL THE TIME. It was so bad - I didn't feel like doing anything at all. I just sat around or tried to sleep (my only relief)
