I never knew they moved so much

Unborn babies, that is.

Oh, I knew they moved, of course. But not in a way that a real baby would. Thought it would be just waves, slight tremors.

Not: A knee or elbow poking. Fists that traverse your abdomen. Limbs. Kicks. Prods. Like a real live living creature moving in there.

Strange as it is, I have a hard time (still) coming to terms with the fact that what resides in my belly is one of those red faced, squalling and squirmy babies. The one and the same thing.

I can't quite reconcile the two. When I go for ultrasounds, I almost have to remind myself afterwards that the baby I see is actually inside my belly.

I'm right now looking down at my belly and trying to imagine a curled up baby in there.

I'm not sure why I'm experiencing this disconnect.

Hahaha, I understand what you mean. I am expecting my first due in dec. I never knew that babies moved that much in the tummy either but its quite cool to watch yr tummy rippling as your baby moves.... Good luck with your birh.
