A new toy for Ellis is, by default, a new toy for us.
Like this Bumbo seat, which is supposed to help babies learn to sit up on their own.
After a few attempts at propping her up on the sofa for photos, and having her slide right down (sideways) like a falling tree, we thought a proper seat for her would be a good idea, especially now that her neck is stronger and she's beginning to gain control of her head.
We would have liked a nice cheerful primary like navy or red, but the Bumbo doesn't come in those colours, so we ended up with this pastel-ly lavender one in the end.

Unfortunately, she looks a little squished up in it, because her neck seems to have disappeared! I also think she looks very Kim Jung Il - great leader-ish in her Bumbo "throne". Quite apt actually, as Ellis can be considered a quarter North Korean - courtesy of my mum-in-law. There's a rather dramatic family story of her escape - carried on her grandmother's back across a river! - from the North during the Korean War.
